This policy explains what information Friends of Freedom and Justice – Bil’in (“FFJ”, “we”) collects when you use ffj-bilin.org, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We collect as little as we can.

Who we are

Friends of Freedom and Justice – Bil’in is a community organization based in Bil’in Village, Ramallah District, Palestine. For any question about this policy or your information, email us at ffj.mediacenter@gmail.com.

What we collect and why

When you contact us

Our contact form asks for your name, email address, a subject and your message. We use this only to reply to you and follow up on your request (for example, arranging a visit or answering a media enquiry). Messages are stored on our website for up to two years and are also delivered to our email inbox, which is provided by Google (Gmail). We then delete them from the website unless we still need them to continue a conversation with you.

When you donate

Online donations are processed by Deluxe, our payment provider, through the form on our Donate page. You enter your payment details directly into Deluxe’s form; they are not stored on our website. Deluxe receives your name, contact details, billing address and payment information in order to process the payment, and handles it under its own privacy policy. Deluxe’s form may load services from Google (reCAPTCHA, to block automated abuse, and web fonts) and Cloudflare, which means these companies can see your IP address while you use the form.

We keep a record of each donation (your name, contact details, amount and date) so that we can send you a receipt and meet US tax requirements. Because we are fiscally sponsored in the United States by the Association for Investment in Popular Action Committees, donation records are shared with our fiscal sponsor as needed to process and receipt tax-deductible donations. We keep donation records for as long as tax and accounting rules require.

When you visit the site

Like every website, our hosting provider (Hostinger) automatically records basic technical information when a page is requested, such as your IP address, browser type and the page visited. These server logs are used only to keep the site running and secure, and are kept for a limited time by our host.

We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking tools, and we do not build profiles of visitors.

Cookies

Our own pages do not set tracking or advertising cookies. WordPress sets cookies only for site administrators who log in. The donation form provided by Deluxe, and Google reCAPTCHA within it, may set cookies needed for the payment process and for security.

Services that load on our pages

  • Hostinger hosts the website and delivers it through its content delivery network. Everything else on our pages, including fonts and images, is served from our own server.
  • Deluxe provides the donation form (see “When you donate” above).

Our contact page links to Google Maps and OpenStreetMap, and our footer links to our social media profiles. These sites only receive information about you if you choose to click through, and they are governed by their own privacy policies.

Who we share information with

We never sell or rent your information. We share it only with the service providers named in this policy, with our US fiscal sponsor for donations, or when required by law.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us at any time to see the information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, and you can ask us to stop contacting you. Depending on where you live (for example in the European Union or the United Kingdom), you may have additional legal rights, including the right to complain to your local data protection authority. To make a request, email ffj.mediacenter@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days.

Security

The site is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), access to the website’s administration is restricted, and payment details are handled only by Deluxe. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

Children

This website is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and the date at the top. This policy is also available in Arabic; if the two versions differ, the English version applies.
